Mike is an old high school friend who recently was engaged to Leanne. They met at GB3 after Mike poured on the charm and the rest is history. Their February wedding is coming up fast so be on the lookout for some more photos.

Andrea & Brett [Engaged]

Andrea and Brett are a fun couple who are Fresno through-and-through and wanted their engagement photos to show this. We took some of the shots downtown, then went to a vineyard in southwest Fresno. Our shoot started bright and early to beat the heat, which was a good thing because by the time we were done it was already scorching. This winter is their wedding and I am looking forward to capturing their special day.

Andrea & Derek [Engaged]

I have known Andrea and Derek for a while now. They too are fellow alums of San Joaquin Memorial High School. Derek even worked there for a few years as Alumni Director, so it was natural for us to head to Memorial for their engagement session. It had been a while since I had stepped on campus; some things had changed, but a lot looked exactly as I remembered it. We had an awesome time running around the halls and sneaking onto the football field. After Memorial we headed down to the Tower District to finish up the session and grab a drink. Below are a select few from the day. Enjoy guys!

Pam & Isaac [Engaged]

Pam and Isaac were a referral from David and Sonya. I am so glad that they referred them because this is an awesome couple. They laugh and smile all the time. Pam is a trooper as well. She tore her ACL in February after a little skiing accident and came to the shoot with crutches. I was a little nervous at first because I was wondering how she was going to make it as we walked around downtown Fresno. We (really… she) pulled it off! Thanks for the great time during the shoot and can’t wait to photograph the wedding in October.

Blaire & AJ [Engaged]

Blaire & AJ have been together for a long time, going on nine years now. When I asked AJ the secret to their successful relationship he said that Blaire keeps him grounded and is his better half. The couple loves the outdoors so we decided to go up to Shaver to get some pics. Lucky for us, it had just snowed for a week straight. Everything was blanketed in the white powder. It was hard to capture a serious photo because they always make each other laugh, but I finally got them to do it. Can’t wait for the wedding in September and enjoy the pics.

Erica & Matt [Engaged]

Erica and Matt… mainly Erica… have been anxiously waiting for me to post these pictures. They met at Cal Poly [ed. note: my alma mater, go Mustangs!] when Matt would visit Campus Market where Erica worked to get lunch. I have a feeling he was not going there for the food. We had a fun day of shooting out at Wolf Lakes, where they are getting married, and got some great field shots during sunset. We chose one of the hottest days during the summer because Matt works at a cattle farm out of town and could only get that day off to shoot. They also had this uncanny ability to hold a kiss forever. I could just keep shooting, and they kept holding the kiss. Made my job that much easier. Thanks for braving the heat and for the fun times guys.

Sonya+David [Engaged]

In high school, David and I played basketball together as Panthers at Memorial. Now he is starting a new chapter in his life with Sonya and they were gracious enough to allow me to shoot their engagement pictures. We started off at Sonya’s sister’s house and had a blast taking some shots with David’s children. We then left the kids with her sister and the three of us went on an adventure around Woodward Park. Enjoy the pics guys, I know you have been waiting patiently for them.

Shooting with the Jones’s

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go out and learn some things about photography from one of the premier photographers in the valley – Ryan Jones from RCJones Photography. It does not hurt that he is a good friend of mine and the person that got me hooked on photography. The session was for the engagement of Krista and Joe. They were awesome for letting me tag along and see how a seasoned professional goes about his work.

As the assistant for the session, my main job was holding the reflector to adjust lighting. Although, I do not think I did as good of a job as this guy. (Scroll down for the great photo of Conlan.) I also did an excellent job of carrying everyone’s sunglasses. Other than holding things, I got to see how Ryan directs a photo session and how organic the process really is. During the shoot, I also got to take some photos. I did not take nearly as many as Ryan, but I got a few while they were focused on Ryan’s camera. Thanks for the fun learning experience guys!
